Located at the Westharz around 5min from Osterode, offers the Söse-Dam a paradise for anglers, campers, cyclists and of course for hikers.

It dams with its 476 metre long soil embankment and a height of 53 metres around 25 million cubic metres of water.
The Söse-Dam's tasks are:
drinking water supply, flood protection, low water regulation and power supply.

The waterworks, which is situated in the catch basin, is connected to two water pipelines. One reaches Bremen, the other Göttingen.

The dam is being used mainly during the rainy season, it is also serves as a hydroelectric power station for the regenerative power generation.


Enjoy the nature on a 9 kilometre long walk around the dam and feel in harmony with water and nature.
