The judicial scale in Osterode at the Harz
image author: city-map Osterode
The judicial scale in the Waagestr., also called 'Hus für Hochziter' (house for marriage), was festival and wedding house for the Osteroder.
The in 1550 build house got its name from the history when goods were weight.
The high pulled gable, the sun-rose embellishment and the scare mask at the top of the gable that should protect the house from adversity catches one's eye especially.
A fire destroyed the building in 1969, but the front could be preserved and thus be restored.
