The gate to the Südharz welcomes its visitors with lovely half-timbered houses, pretty stores and shops.

The well-preserved half-timbered houses from four centuries form together with the old market church St. Aegidien, the old guildhall, the judicial scale and the castle at the Rollberg the town's centre.

You stroll through tight alleys, over the Kornmarkt into a lively old town.

Leisure fun in Osterode gives the Erlebnisbad (experience pool) ALOHA, the civic centre and walks through the Osteroder town forest.

For anglers the Söse-dam is a 'hot insider tip' and combined with a visit to the National-park info-place with the theme 'water' in Riefensbeek, a real 'highlight'.
